Here is our departure in Nakusp, with Bill beginning his pre-flight checklist. There was a strange "dead" sky overcast when we took off, but it became clearer the farther west and north we flew. We were able to fly most of the 2 1/2 hour journey at 8,500 ft. It's Bill's preference to be as high as we can as it's easier to find landmarks on the ground. For in-flight photos of today's leg, see

Nakusp to Quesnel
It looks like about 40 of the 108 planes are staging here tonight. Organization by the local flying club is impressive, with marshals at the fuel dock, tie-down field and flying club. Very warm welcome! Quesnel is hopping; it's the annual Barker Days celebration.
We are impressed with our first view of the Century crowd. Our age is as average as our plane, as you can see in this photo of our briefing session. The Quesnel Flying Club members outdid themselves with a scrumptious pig roast and tables laden with salads and sweets.
I can't load the spotadventures link, Jill? It comes up "server not found". Enjoy Quesnel. Rosalie
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what's happening here. Try copying the link and pasting it into your browser URL box. I will figure out the glitch when I have more screen time in Whitehorse. The Weatherman is keen to get into his sites tonight!
